PERSONAL LIFE
As the oldest of nine, I was born and raised in the small town of New England, North Dakota. I spent many years helping my dad on the farm doing everything from summer fallowing 14 hour days (back when that was cool) to fixing the combines and driving truck.
After high school I studied abroad in Mexico. I attended NDSU where I ran track, supervised computer consultants and in 2000 graduated with a degree in Spanish Education and a minor in Computer Science. I worked in software development for many years after I graduated, and later went back to grad. school to get my Master's in Business Administration.
Activities I am involved in include church groups, writing and singing music, playing, coaching and refereeing high school and club soccer, hiking and local and state politics. Because I am passionate about helping grow business and helping people find affordable housing, I became a planning and zoning commissioner for the city of Mandan
Most important to my life is wife Laura of 25 years and our family of 7 children. Laura is also a REALTOR and we work together as a team. We are very involved in the community and our connections to so many good people in Bismarck / Mandan help us serve our real estate clients even better.

One piece of advice: Do NOT compromise on your biggest goals. Buying a property is likely the most expensive purchase you will ever make. I have had some buyers take as much as four years to find a house. Some of my clients find their home in the first few days, but most are within a few weeks or months. When I was considering making an offer on my first home, I was petrified. At one point, my REALTOR told me that contingencies could be added in case things didn't feel right after my offer was accepted. When I heard that, I was able to finally relax and enjoy the process knowing that I was being protected by my agent.
